Ole Miss 79 – Alabama 67. Video Highlights

3. Ole Miss sophomore guard Martavious Newby sets career-highs with 15 points and 10 rebounds.  Marshall Henderson sets SEC record with 3-pointer in 61st straight game.

4. Alabama now 0-13 on the road this season.  Crimson Tide get a career-high 27 points from freshman Shannon Hale.

5. LSU goes on 21-0 first-half run.  Jarell Martin ties a career-high with 20 points.

Auburn 83 – South Carolina 67. Video Highlights

7. Smallest crowd to ever watch SEC game at Auburn Arena sees the Tigers even their record at 13-13. Chris Denson led the Tigers with 22 points.

8. Auburn fan gets ejected after criticizing referee Ted Valentine.  Fifty-three fouls, including two technicals, were called against the two teams.

1. No. 1 Gators survive challenge at Vanderbilt.  Florida clinches share of regular season SEC title with 20th straight win behind team-high 19 points from Dorian Finney-Smith.

2. “This is a different team with a different feel, a grinding, blue-collar group that wins with defense and resolve. “

3. Vanderbilt coach Kevin Stallings: “The game came down to one or two possessions, and (Florida was) able to make the plays they needed to make.”

Georgia 71 – Missouri 56. Video Highlights

4. With victory, Georgia ensures it will finish above .500 in league play – something only five other Georgia teams have accomplished in past 26 years. Charles Mann led the Bulldogs with 19 points.

5. Did Mizzou’s NCAA bubble just pop?  Guards Jabari Brown and Jordan Clarkson combined to make just nine of 29 shots and turned the ball over seven times.

1. Florida positioned for No. 1 ranking in polls after 19th straight win.  Tied at 59 in the second half, Gators took control of the game with a 7-0 run.

2. Ole Miss guard Marshall Henderson scores 22 points in the first half.  Shutout in the second half.

Georgia 73 – South Carolina 56

3. Georgia matches its victory total for all of last year.  Bulldogs get a career-high 27 points from guard Kenny Gaines.

4. Tied at half, South Carolina starts second half with an 0-for-16 stretch from the floor.

Texas A&M 68 – Tennessee 65 (OT). Video Highlights

5. For the second time this year against Tennessee, Antwan Space is the hero.  His 3-pointer with four seconds left in overtime delivers the win for the Aggies.

6. Tennessee forward Jeronne Maymon: “It was kind of heartbreaking, the way we lost in Knoxville, [to] come down here to lose the same way.”

Kentucky 77 – LSU 76 (OT). Video Highlights

7. Kentucky gets the win after Julius Randle scores with 3.9 seconds left in overtime. “That was the basketball gods.”

8. Kentucky native Anthony Hickey scored 20 points and had eight assists for LSU.

9. Arkansas sophomore guard Anthlon Bell scores a career-high 19 points.  MSU coach Rick Ray: “He wasn’t on the scouting report.”

10. Late rally falls short for the Bulldogs.  Colin Borchert led Mississippi State with 21 points.

Vanderbilt 67 – Auburn 59

11. Vanderbilt rallies from 16-point deficit.  Commodores get a career-high 21 points from Dai-Jon Parker.

12. Auburn’s scoring duo of Chris Denson and KT Harrell combine to shoot just 7-of-30 from the field.

Alabama 80 – Missouri 73. Video Highlights

13. Alabama gets a career-high 33 points from Levi Randolph.  Previous high was 20 points.

14. Missouri coach Frank Haith: “We didn’t defend at all. The leaders of our team — Jabari (Brown) and Jordan (Clarkson), those guys have got to defend.”

5. Missouri bounces back in second half after scoring season-low 20 points in first half.  Jordan Clarkson scores a game-high 21 points.

6. Vanderbilt gets 19 points and seven rebounds from Damian Jones.  Commodores drop to 6-7 in SEC play.

7. School record 18th straight win for Florida.  Gators remain perfect in SEC play as Patric Young scores all 17 of his game-high points in the second half.

3. 15th double-double of the season for Jarnell Stokes - 20 points and 11 rebounds.

1. Vanderbilt rallies from 11-point second-half deficit. Key jump ball with 6.6 seconds left in regulation  and the possession arrow favoring Vanderbilt.

2. Texas A&M coach Billy Kennedy on the unique end zone benches at Memorial Gym -  “the best home-court advantage I’ve ever played against.”

Auburn 92 – Mississippi State 82. Video Highlights

3. Auburn gets 30 points from Chris Denson and 26 from KT Harrell.  ”We have to play like that all the time.”

4. Mississippi State coach Rick Ray: “We had a lot of bad combinations out on the floor. We just couldn’t find a way to score.”

Missouri 75 – Tennessee 70. Video Highlights

5. Missouri shoots 56. 5 percent from the field. Team-high 24 points for Jabari Brown.

6. Vols lose despite 31 points from Jordan McRae.  Tennessee just 4-of-21 from three-point range.

Georgia 61 – Ole Miss 60.

7. Fourth straight victory for Georgia – now 8-4 in SEC play.  Charles Mann’s free throw with 1.5 seconds left the difference in the contest.

8. Marshall Henderson led Ole Miss with 24 points despite not starting the game. Coach Andy Kennedy: “I was just trying to change his mojo.”

South Carolina 67 – Alabama 66.

9. Tip-in with 16.6 seconds left puts South Carolina up for good.  Coach Frank Martin: ”I guess the good Lord was looking down on the Gamecocks tonight.”

10. Trevor Releford keeps Alabama in the game – scores 25 of his 27 points in the second half. 46 points for Releford in the second half of last two games – teammates have scored just 35.

Arkansas 81 – LSU 70. Video Highlights

11. Arkansas finishes game on a 27-10 run.  Game-high 21 points for guard Ky Madden.

12. LSU gets a team-high 20 points and career-best 16 rebounds from Johnny O’Bryant.  

Florida 69 – Kentucky 59.Video Highlights

13. Game of the day in the SEC sees Florida snap six-game losing streak at Rupp Arena and win 17th straight game. Coach Billy Donovan: “I still think we can continue to grow and get better.”

14. Florida outscored Kentucky 31-14 down the stretch.  UK drops to 9-3 in SEC play.

15. “It’s time to talk about Florida as a true title contender, and perhaps the most complete team in the country…”

SEC Hoops Roundup 2/14/2014

1. Jabari Brown hits game-winning shot with 12 seconds left. Brown and Jordan Clarkson combine for 52 points. Tigers hit on 34-of-38 free throws.

2. Arkansas drops to 2-4 in SEC games decided by 5 points or less. Coach Mike Anderson: “I’ll take the blame for this one here.”

South Carolina 65 – Vanderbilt 59

3. South Carolina snaps three-game losing streak behind 19 points from freshman Sindarius Thornwell.  Vanderbilt coach Kevin Stallings called him the best player on the floor.

4. With school closed to due to weather, no pep band, dance squad or cheerleaders.  About 1,000 attended the afternoon game. South Carolina has two SEC wins – both on snow days.

1. Kentucky grabs 22 offensive rebounds on the night. Andrew Harrison led UK with 16 points. Julius Randle added 12 points and 12 rebounds.

2. Chris Denson scores a game-high 26 points but KT Harrell fails to hit three-pointer for first time this season. Coach Tony Barbee: “We need Chris Denson and KT Harrell to play big for us at the same time.”

Texas A&M 83 – LSU 73. Video Highlights

3. Aggies get 12 points and 10 rebounds from Kourtney Roberson as Texas A&M wins the battle of the boards 39-32.

4. LSU fell to 1-5 away from Baton Rouge in SEC play. Coach Johnnie Jones: “They were able to stretch our defense. That’s not something they’ve been noted for.”

Georgia 75 – Mississippi State 55

5. Down by 14 points early, Georgia rallies for easy 20-point win.  Charles Mann led the Bulldogs with 19 points.

6. Georgia’s Kenny Paul Geno grew up a Mississippi State fan. Helped ignite a 20-5 run for Georgia in first half.

1. Scottie Wilbekin drains a key late three-point shot for Florida.  Finishes with  21 points, six assists and four steals as Gators move to 11-0 in the SEC.

2. Coach Billy Donovan calls Patric Young’s late save “the play of the year.”

3. The Vols commit 15 turnovers - including eight by forward by Jeronne Maymon.  Coach Cuonzo Martin: “Against a good team you can’t make those type of mistakes in taking care of the basketball…”

Alabama 67 – Ole Miss 64.

4. Alabama snaps a four-game losing streak as Trevor Releford scores 26 points and hits last-second three-point shot to break the tie.  “We needed this one. We needed it bad.”

5.Marshall Henderson scores 14 points for Ole Miss as the Rebels drop to 7-4 in conference play.
