Report: Urban Meyer Turned In Florida For Alleged Recruiting Violation

Urban MeyerDid Ohio State coach Urban Meyer go to the NCAA with an alleged recruiting violation at his former school?  That’s the story according to a report at

Meyer reportedly turned in Florida assistant coach Brian White for an alleged bump violation while recruiting highly regarded prospect Curtis Samuel from New York.

While no wrongdoing was reportedly found, Samuel subsequently released his top five list of colleges under consideration.  They included Ohio State but not Florida. Alabama was the only SEC school to make the final cut. It’s unclear what role, if any,  the reported bump violation had to do with Samuel’s decision.

Update: Meyer denies the report that he was involved but Ohio State was:  “It is absolutely not true that I turned in the University of Florida. Weeks after, I learned our compliance guy (without any coach involvement) forwarded an article to the conference office. This is standard procedure. Once again, zero coach involvement.”
