In-State Defensive Tackle Chooses Auburn

Defensive tackle Tyler Nero from Escambia County High School in Atmore, Ala., committed to Auburn on Tuesday.

Nero, who is Auburn’s 13th commitment for the class of 2012, chose Auburn over offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Florida State and others.

“I always felt at home when I visited Auburn,” Nero told the Atmore Advance. “I enjoyed being around the coaches and players when I was up there.”

Nero gave his commitment to Auburn head coach Gene Chizik.

“He was more excited than I was,” Nero said. “I spoke to all of the defensive coaches at Auburn and they are all really excited.”

Nero is considered a three-star prospect by Rivals and ESPN and a four-star prospect by Scout and 247Sports.
