Mizzou’s Green-Beckham Arrested (Again) On Pot Charges

marijuana pot funny sign at least not crackWell, it’s clearly football’s offseason now.  We have the first big arrest of the year and that’s a sure tip off that silly season is underway.

Star Missouri receiver Dorial Green-Beckham was arrested in Springfield, Missouri early this morning on suspicion of drug activity.  What exactly does that mean?  Police wouldn’t say:

“It’s an ongoing investigation and we’re not going to comment now on the situation.”

However, the Greene County jail website said that Green-Beckham was cited for alleged felony distribution or delivering less than five grams of marijuana.  His name and mugshot have since been removed from that site.  The junior-to-be was also arrested in October 2012 — during his freshman season at Mizzou — along with two teammates for suspicion of marijuana possession.  He later pled that down.

Perhaps DGB should consider transferring to Colorado if he’s determined to keep ingesting THC.

Missouri’s athletic department policy stipulates that any athlete charged with a felony must be suspended from all team activities until the case is resolved.

The Tigers finished this past year 12-2 with an SEC East Division title.  Green-Beckham was second on MU’s team in receiving and 11th in the league with 59 catches for 883 yards and 12 touchdowns.  His 12 TD receptions were tied for the most in the league.  He was the #1 recruit in the nation when he inked with Mizzou two Februarys ago.

If Green-Beckham isn’t careful, his promising football career could go up in smoke.
