Byron Moore Confirms His Two Finalists

Defensive back Byron Moore from Los Angeles Harbor City Community College has confirmed he’s only considering Tennessee and Miami.

Moore told MrSEC.com via text message that he informed Oregon State’s coaches he’s no longer considering the Beavers.

Moore, who will take his final official visit to Miami this weekend, said he plans to choose between UT and Miami some time next week.

Moore spent the 2009 season redshirting at Southern California. He transferred to Harbor City after Lane Kiffin and his staff arrived at USC. Moore will have three years to play three at his next school.

Moore had also considered LSU, Ohio State and several schools in the Pac-10.

Jeoffrey Pagan Decommits From Florida

Florida’s bad weekend got a little worse on Sunday when defensive end Jeoffrey Pagan decommitted from the Gators.

Pagan, who attends Asheville (N.C.) High School, had been considered a “soft” commitment to Florida for a while.

“I felt like I was missing out on some stuff and wanted to get back into everything so I’m not missing out on anything,” Pagan told GatorBait.net.

Pagan told the website he will consider Alabama, LSU, Clemson, Southern California and maybe Ohio State.

Pagan has scheduled one official visit to Clemson on Jan. 15.

Florida’s recruiting with Pagan took another hit during the weekend when defensive line coach Dan McCarney accepted the head coaching position at North Texas.

How might McCarney’s departure affect Florida elsewhere in recruiting? Edward Aschoff of the Gainesville Sun has a report. Read it here.

Tennessee Lands Receiver Arnett

Wide receiver DeAnthony Arnett from Saginaw (Mich.) High School committed to Tennessee on Wednesday night.

Arnett chose UT over Michigan State. He also considered Michigan, California and Southern California.

Arnett took an unofficial visit to UT during the Oregon game on Sept. 11. Arnett saw the opportunity to fit in with standout freshmen receivers Justin Hunter and Da’Rick Rogers.

“Everything about it I liked when I went down there,” Arnett told the Knoxville News Sentinel. “With Da’Rick and Justin on one side and me in the slot, things can be special at UT.”
