Walker Jones is the latest member of his family to decide to play football at Alabama.
The linebacker from Evangelical Christian School in Cordova, Tenn., committed to the Crimson Tide on Tuesday.
Jones will follow his brothers, senior offensive lineman Barrett Jones and sophomore tight end Harrison Jones, in Tuscaloosa. Barrett Jones was happy to learn of Walker’s decision.
Proud that my youngest brother @walkerjones33 decided to join the best program in the country. Can’t wait to see him in a crimson jersey.

Walker Jones considered other schools, including Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt, before he committed to Alabama. Tide coach Nick Saban and his staff helped put Alabama over the top.
“It was the coaching staff,” Jones told ESPN RecruitingNation. “It’s probably the best coaching staff in the nation. You can tell because they’re won two national championships in the last three years, and I believe that’s due to the coaching and the recruiting. That was big to me.”
Expectations will likely be high for Jones, whose father, Rex, played basketball at Alabama from 1982-84. But Walker Jones said he’s only worried about himself.
“I see it as I have to carve my own path, and I’m excited about it,” Jones said. “I’m excited to go up there and work hard, so I don’t see it as following anyone’s footsteps.”
