SEC Headlines – 8/2/12

1.  Under a new NCAA proposal, boosters would be allowed to contribute directly to the salaries of college coaches.  (It’s all part of today’s discussions concerning ways to thin down the NCAA’s rulebook.)

2.  A fiery new take on the NCAA’s new “emergency action” powers — from a Pulitzer Prize-winner — can be found here.  (“The NCAA’s conscious design is skewed toward tyranny.  It shuns the checks and balances of healthy governance.”)

3.  The fine folks over at the SEC’s official website have dug up newspapers, photos, and even minutes for a 1933 league meeting… and placed them together on one-page.  (It’s a real trip down Memory Lane for SEC fans.)
