SEC Headlines – 11/18/10 Part One

1.  Potential Rhodes scholar Greg McElroy has been a class act on and off the field for Alabama.

2.  Some young Auburn D-linemen will have to step up in the first half of the Iron Bowl (due to the suspensions of Mike Blanc and Michael Goggans).

3.  Auburn’s defensive line wore down in last year’s Iron Bowl.  “But we won’t make the same mistake twice,” said Dee Ford.

4.  Heading into a game with Mississippi State, Arkansas is already well-versed in defending the option.

5.  So much for John Pelphrey’s team starting the season healthy.  Michael Sanchez will be out six weeks after injuring his foot Tuesday in practice.

6.  The Hogs will be counting on chemistry this year.

7.  It’ll be weakness against weakness when LSU tries to pass against Ole Miss’ secondary.

8.  Right guard Will Blackwell should be ready to play on Saturday.

9.  Trent Johnson says the veterans on his team are on a short leash.
