1. Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo reportedly set to talk to Georgia Southern about its head coaching vacancy. Makes $575,000 a year at Georgia under a three-year contract. Mark Richt: “I’m not shocked that Mike’s getting some attention in that regard.”

2, Bobo on Jacksonville: “Our philosophy is Jacksonville is just an extension of Georgia.”

3, Is LSU coach Les Miles still a Big Ten man at heart? LSU A.D. Joe Alleva on Miles: “He has five years left on his contract, and I expect him to be our coach for a long time to come.”

4. Enjoy the Johnny Manziel to Mike Evans connection tonight.  Could be the last time you see them in Texas A&M uniforms. The Aggies Malcome Kennedy nearly two months ago: “It was fun playing with them.” Watch them tonight in person for under 10 bucks.

5, Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin once interviewed at Tennessee for the wide receivers coaching position.  Job went to Pat Washington (now at Missouri) instead.

6. A win for Dan Mullen today would give the Mississippi State head coach the most bowl victories in school history.

7. One of the reasons why the SEC is going for its 8th straight title?  Avoiding major NCAA penalties.  ”This can’t be overstated enough.”

SEC Headlines 2/18/2012

1. Former Tennessee assistant Pat Washington is reportedly headed to Kentucky to replace former Tennessee player Tee Martin.

2. What’s the fate of Florida tight end A.C. Leonard?  Ninth arrest in 14 months under Will Muschamp.

3. Mike Bianchi: “It will be absolutely shocking if Gators coach Will Muschamp doesn’t dismiss sophomore tight end A.C. Leonard from the team for the latest in the perpetual string of embarrassing UF arrests.”

4. Expect the AD search at Ole Miss to kick into high gear. School releases details on contracts of five assistant coaches.

5. Jon Solomon: “The NCAA’s multiyear scholarship rule, even if it’s more symbolic than substantive, is one whose time had come again.”

6. What a difference a year makes.  Mark Richt can now joke about the “hot seat.”

7. “Arkansas’ schedule sets up well for a 2012 run at the SEC West and national title.”

8. Razorbacks and Texas A&M likely won’t see Arlington, Texas again until 2014.

9. LSU at South Carolina.  Tigers need victories for a possible NIT bid and first road win in the SEC.

10. Ole Miss at Kentucky.  Third Thursday/Saturday doubleheader for the Rebels in the last four weeks. Two teams headed in completely opposite directions.

11. Tennessee at Alabama. Crimson Tide have two suspended and three banged up. The “Third Saturday in February.”  Skylar McBee a key weapon for the Vols.

12. Florida at Arkansas.  John Pelphrey returns to Razorback country and the freshman class that was supposed to save his job. Gators face an Arkansas team undefeated at home. Florida players Will Yeguete and Mike Rosario may return.

14. Mississippi State at Auburn.  Can the Bulldogs hold a lead? 14 days ago, these two teams engaged in a shootout.
