Good Tuesday morning to you. Tuesday evening will bring a pair of SEC hoops games including a dust-up between Florida and Missouri, the league’s most likely NCAA Tournament teams. We’ll have plenty of news and views between now and then to serve as your daytime SEC fix.
But first, your thought/lyric of the day comes from a group called Alabama Shakes. If you aren’t familiar with them, you should be. They performed on Saturday Night Live three days ago. They showed up at the Grammy Awards as three-time nominees nine days ago. And their lead singer — 24-year-old Brittany Howard — has a voice and guitar chops that could someday make her a music legend. That’s not hyperbole, folks. Listen to the group’s album “Boys & Girls” and see if Howard’s soulful signing doesn’t remind you of a female Otis Redding. Which is a helluva compliment to Howard.
Man, ya gotta love those rare non-cookie-cutter bands. All hail, Alabama Shakes.
“So bless my heart. Bless my mind. I got so much to do, I ain’t got much time.”
