Tennessee has addressed depth issues within its post position by accepting a commitment from Yemi Makanjuola.
Makanjuola, who attends Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, N.C., is expected to be the fourth and final member of UT’s signing class.
Makanjuola transferred from Oak Hill Academy to Word of God before the 2010-11 year began. He arrived in the United States from Nigeria in 2010.
Makanjuola will join a class that includes guards Quinton Chievous, Josh Richardson and Wes Washpun.
The signing of Chievous became official this week. Chievous is a combo guard from Notre Dame Prep School in Niles, Ill.
“Quinton has a lot of characteristics coaches love,” UT coach Cuonzo Martin said. “He’s a hard worker who’s dedicated to putting time in to continue to enhance his skills. He’s very athletic and is a great competitor. He has the tools to be a really good player because he can do a lot of different things.”
UT also signed point guard Chris Jones from Memphis, Tenn., but Jones is expected to enroll at Northwest Florida State Junior College this fall.
