Boxscore Breakdown: Florida 61 – Alabama 51

Boynton led Florida with 16 points, all in the second half.  Patric Young had 13 points and nine rebounds.

Alabama was led by Trevor Releford’s 12 points and 11 each from Trevor Lacey and Nick Jacobs.

- Florida shot 44% from the floor (23-52) but connected only 3 of 17 three-point shots.

- Alabama shot 45% from the field (19-52) and connected on 50% of their three-pointers (6-12)

- Florida committed only four turnovers – Alabama had 10.

- Slight rebounding edge to the Gators – 28 to 25 but Florida had 10 offensive boards, Alabama only five.

Florida advances to play in the championship tomorrow against the winner of Vanderbilt – Ole Miss.

Men’s Basketball Signs No. 16 Class

University of Alabama head men’s basketball coach Anthony Grant has announced the signing of four student-athletes to National Letters of Intent for the 2011-12 season. Levi Randolph, Nick Jacobs, Rodney Cooper and Moussa Gueye are slated to join the Crimson Tide on the court next season.
