SC’s Lattimore Says He’s “100 Percent”

The straw that stirs the drink is ready to start stirring again.

South Carolina offensive MVP Marcus Lattimore is likely to be back in action Saturday against Tennessee.  The Cocks’ top tailback says that his ankle sprain is behind him at this point.

“I feel really good.  I feel 100% now.”

That’s great news for a Carolina team that saw its scoring punch dry up with Lattimore out of the line-up.  The Gamecocks held a 28-10 lead at Kentucky when their star freshman tailback left that game two weeks ago.  The Wildcats came back to win the game 31-28.  Last Saturday — as they coaches rested Lattimore — Carolina won an ugly game over Vanderbilt 21-7.

As Travis Haney of The Charleston Post & Courier pointed out yesterday, with Lattimore back, play-calling probably won’t be a big topic of discussion in Columbia after Saturday’s game.

Expect USC’s play selection to look something like this:

Lattimore right.
Lattimore left.
Lattimore up the middle.
Alshon Jeffery occasionally deep.
Repeat.
