Report: Vol Hoopster Hall Arrested For Driving On Suspended License — the site covering Tennessee athletics — is reporting that Vol forward Kenny Hall was arrested at some point this week for driving with a suspended license.  No disciplinary response has been announced by UT, but Hall was suspended from Tennessee’s final 11 games last season due to an unspecified rules violation.

Has has started all 19 games for Cuonzo Martin’s side this season and is averaging 4.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.  He scored a season-high 14 points last weekend in Tennessee’s loss at Arkansas.

Vols Have A Lot Of 4-Star Guys On The Bench

Mike Strange of The Knoxville News Sentinel makes an interesting observation today, pointing out that Bruce Pearl currently has five 4-star recruits on his “scout team.”

“I was telling Brian (Williams) and some other players, this is not like a regular practice,” said one of those 4-star backups, Kenny Hall.  “It’s like you’re playing a game against another D-I school.”  Pearl says the backup unit looks “like five guys who will be playing a lot for us next year.”

But with his team struggling in the present — the Vols are just 9-10 after a hot 7-0 start — some UT backers might be wondering why Hall, Jeronne Maymon, Jordan McRae, Trae Golden and Renaldo Woolridge aren’t seeing more action this year.

Truth be told, most of those players have failed to earn more minutes when they’ve been given playing time this season.  Which makes one wonder just how good they’ll be when they do play “a lot” for UT next year.
