1. Late Heisman push?  Former Alabama quarterback Jay Barker on AJ McCarron’s chances:  ”We’ve seen it before where a lot of times the Maxwell Award lines right up with the Heisman Trophy.”

2. Did you know?  The father of Auburn running back Tre Mason is one part of the group De La Soul.

3. Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston and his high school coach reached out to Texas numerous times during his recruiting process.  They never returned the calls.

4. This projection has Winston winning the award in a landslide. Are 112 Heisman voters really in danger of losing their vote?

5. 2012 Heisman winner Johnny Manziel on the BCS title game: “I’m SEC biased, so I’m rooting for my conference and Auburn, but Florida State is a great team. I think it really is a tossup.”

7. All-SEC defensive end Bud Dupree will return for his senior season at Kentucky.   Sophomore tailback Dyshawn Mobley is transferring.

8. Auburn coach Gus Malzahn says it’s just a matter of time before offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee becomes a head coach somwhere:  ”He’ll be a head coach at this level. It’s just a matter of when…”

9. Ticket prices going up at LSU.  A.D. Joe Alleva: “I know there’s a lot of talk and discussion about the SEC network, however, we don’t have any idea of how much money that is going to generate.”
