Georgia’s coaching staff will be glad to hear Montravius Adams’ mother has given her son approval to sign with the Bulldogs.
Adams, a defensive tackle from Dooly County High School in Vienna, Ga., visited Georgia with his mother, Debbie Young, on Saturday. The visit received a higher rating than her trips to Auburn and Florida.
“I enjoyed Georgia better than the other two places I’ve been,” Young told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “I enjoyed Georgia real good because … I don’t know … they just make me feel like a family, I guess. Auburn and Florida, they made me feel good. But I just feel more comfortable at Georgia.”
Young’s approval doesn’t necessarily mean Adams will choose Georgia. But it won’t hurt the Bulldogs’ chances, either.
Adams and Young had a conversation about the trip during their drive home following Georgia’s 37-10 win over Ole Miss.
Said Young, “He will ask me, ‘How did you like this and how did you like that? How did you like the people you were talking to?’ I asked him the same questions because, as I always tell him, ‘I know you want my opinion how I feel, but I also want your opinion about how you feel.’
“He’s the one who has to stay at a college for four years. He’s the one who has got to do it. I want him to feel comfortable wherever he goes. I want him to feel just like he would if he was at home.”
