Redshirt freshman receiver Kane Whitehurst ran afoul of the law yesterday. He was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia (a grinder and a pipe).
A teen football player with pot? No shock there. But what is interesting is how Johnny Law came to catch Whitehurst.
According to ArkansasSports360.com, the player was arrested at 3:39am CT after complaints were made that “a black BMW sport utility vehicle” was “squalling his tires and traveling at a excessive speed” through a parking garage on the Arkansas campus.
Smart. And a black BMW SUV is a pricey little ride, too. I’m sure no one will ask questions about that one.
When the arresting officer pulled Whitehurst over for going 25 in the 10 mile-per-hour parking garage, he “smelled burnt marijuana.”
Bobby Petrino said the situation “will be handled appropriately.”
