AU Nabs Another Top Florida Prospect

Auburn didn’t have a great morning, but Gene Chizik’s rebounded nicely this afternoon.  In addition to five-star offensive lineman Avery Young, the Tigers have also nabbed the signature of fellow Floridian Ricardo Louis.  Louis is a four-star receiver prospect from Miami Beach.

Louis had been an Auburn commitment before switching late to Florida State and then declaring himself undecided.  Turns out, he wound up where folks thought he would all along.

And suddenly Auburn’s finish has taken on a much better look.

Top Prospect Young Picks AU (Despite UGA Web Glitch)

Early this morning, Georgia fans visiting the team’s official signing day page were thrilled to the name of 5-star offensive line prospect Avery Young listed among the Dawgs’ signees.  One problem.  It shouldn’t have been.

In preparation for signing day, schools like Georgia build profiles of all of their possible signees.  Someone at UGA accidentally hit the publish button on Young’s bio and it went live.

But moments ago the Florida native selected Auburn over both Georgia and Florida.  Auburn hasn’t closed as fast as it has in recent years so Young’s announcement will put a nice spin on things.
