Got some Tennessee basketball notes for you this morning:
1) Mike Griffith of The Knoxville News Sentinel breaks down what each UT player showed in Summer league play. Among his observations: the Vols’ point guard situation is in “good hands” with Bobby Maze, Scotty Hopson will be “virtually unstoppable” when he’s hitting threes, and Daniel West “is a winner.”
This link also brings you ALL the stats from the league.
For kicks, here’s some video from the league’s championship game.
2) UT’s Tyler Smith won the Rocky Top League’s MVP award. There are many more awards handed out here, I suppose by Mr. Griffith. Among the awards presented for this basketball league: the John Elway award, the Peyton Manning award and the Pat Summitt award.
Alright.
3) And Tennessee’s basketball team will be heading to Murfreesboro to take on Middle Tennessee State on November 21st. Last year the Vols traveled to Memphis and Chattanooga as Bruce Pearl tries to make recruiting in-roads across the state.
