Here are some quickie stories from Oxford today:
You would expect the Capital One Bowl to grab 9-3 Georgia rather than 8-4 Ole Miss. You would expect the Capital One Bowl to take the team from the SEC East.
But you might be wrong. I’d still guess that UM will wind up in the Cotton Bowl on New Year’s Day, but the executive director of the Capital One Bowl says Ole Miss is still in the running for Orlando “because they finished very, very strong.” Something Georgia most certainly did not do.
Also, defensive tackle Peria Jerry was named the SEC’s Defensive Player of the Week for his five tackles and two sacks in the Egg Bowl.
