Houston Nutt and his Ole Miss Rebels can take a few moments to rest after finishing their season at 8-4 with a 45-0 Egg Bowl win on Saturday:
Mississippi has finished their season the right way, whipping Louisiana-Monroe, Mississippi State and LSU by a combined score of 135-13. That has pushed UM up the bowl ladder, where it now looks like they’ll play in either the Cotton Bowl or the Capital One Bowl. There are other possibilities, but as one of the SEC’s top four teams and with a national ranking, it’s hard to imagine Nutt’s team dropping beyond the Cotton or Capital One.
Defensive end Greg Hardy has been hampered by injuries and his own bizarre motor all season. Still, he leads the Rebels with 8.5 sacks this season. Nutt says he’s not sure if the junior will want to go to the NFL early. Perhaps some greenbacks could get the guy to go 100% all the time.
