Mississippi State’s athletic budget will grow slightly over last year, rising to nearly $32 million for 2008-2009.

Just 20 years ago, State’s athletic department had a budget of less than $10 million.

Obvioulsy, the more money MSU can spend on athletics and coaches (see: Sylvester Croom’s $750,000 raise this weekend), the better the chance of the Bulldogs eventually climbing from the lower tier of the SEC.
