Things are going from bad to worse in Starkville it seems:

Defensive tackle Jessie Bowman tore a quad tendon late in the Bulldogs 32-7 loss to Alabama and is probably lost for the season.

Safety Derek Pegues is expected to recover from a concussion in time to play next Saturday.

Remember us saying last week that MSU had better improve their special teams if they wanted to upset Alabama?  Well, if 16 points lost by the punt coverage teams didn’t make it clear enough, perhaps the fact that Sylvester Croom chewed out special teams coach Reed Stringer on the sidelines will be proof enough to let you know that, no, State’s special teams did not improve against the Tide.

Motley Croom will face Arkansas on Saturday in a battle between the West’s two worst teams.  Here’s a quick preview of what the Hogs will bring into Starkville.
