Here’s today’s news from Baton Rouge:
Les Miles believes his team will be plenty focused for Ole Miss tomorrow. “That team beat Florida in Gainesville. Our team understands what that means.”
The key tomorrow? Turnovers. In their four losses, Ole Miss has turned the ball over three or more times. In their six wins, the Rebels have had two or fewer turnovers. Pretty simple. More than two turnovers on Saturday and the Rebels will lose. This stuff’s easy to break down.
Jevan Snead is playing better football these days. With 17 touchdown passes, he’s been one of the SEC’s best playmakers, but in the Rebels’ three-game winning streak, he’s also protected the football. He’s thrown just one interception in UM’s last three games.
Freshman running back and Louisiana native Brandon Bolden has emerged as one of Houston Nutt’s best weapons.
When LSU fans honor the 1958 national championship team tomorrow, they’ll be paying homage to the team that served as the foundation for the Tiger football program you see today.
