Some news on football and basketball from Lexington this morning, staring with the gridiron:

Underclassmen Micah Johnson, Trevard Lindley and Jeremy Jarmon will all ask the NFL to evaluate their draft stock.

Kentucky’s three straight losses to close the season cost Rich Brooks $25,000.

On the basketball front:

Jimmy Hyams told you last week about just how elusive triple-doubles have been in the SEC.  Today, Jerry Tipton, who provides dynamite coverage of UK Hoops for The Lexington Herald-Leader, examines UK’s lack of triple-doubles.  Chris Mills (more famous for an Emery Air Freight package) has the Wildcats’ only triple-double to date.

Meanwhile, looking at this year’s club, John Clay of The Leader believes this can be “a very good Kentucky basketball team.”  IF they stop turning over the basketball.  IF is capitalized for a reason.
