Offensive lineman James Carpenter from Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College has committed to Alabama, according to CrimsonConfidential.com.
Carpenter had considering Ole Miss, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Kansas before choosing Alabama.
“I’m going to compete for the left tackle job if (junior) Andre Smith leaves (for the NFL draft), and if he doesn’t I can compete for the right,” Carpenter said. ”I’m graduating in December, so I can go up there in January and work out and compete for a spot.”
