Let me get this out of the way before someone says I’m being biased:  I don’t like Brandon Spikes.

No bias… I just think Florida’s outstanding linebacker is a total loud mouth.

From Week One to the BCS Championship Game, Spikes has had no problems taking verbal shots at Gator opponents.  And anyone else that comes to mind.

And he’s back at it this week in Miami.

His take on Oklahoma?  “I think Big 12 defenses are a joke.”

On Pete Carroll’s comments that no one can beat Southern Cal right now: “Who did USC lose to? (Reporter: Oregon State.)  Exactly.  Of course he’s going to say that, he’s the head guy, he’s riding high, but he just beat Penn State.  Penn… State.  Penn… State.”

On Ole Miss beating Texas Tech:  “Texas Tech, they were putting up 50, too.  Then they play an SEC school… that kind of stops.  Then the Ole Miss offense looked like they were going against their scout team.”

So, we have shots at the entire Big 12, Southern Cal, Penn State and Texas Tech.

Just shut up and play the game already. 

There are media folks who just LOVE this kind of stuff.  Live for it.  Bait players just to get this type of crap.

Not me.  I can’t stand it.  Just do your talking on the field. 

That, or when these big talkers lose, that’s when I want a mic stuck in their face.  You never hear from them then.
