ESPN’S LOW RECAPS THE WEEKEND IN THE SEC

Chris Low gives out helmet stickers, shows some love for Vandy, and updates his SEC Power Rankings in his latest blog post at ESPN.com:

It took them 65 years to get there, but Vanderbilt is 5-0 for the first time since FDR was president.  Two more wins, and they’ll have their first winning season in 25 years.

These guys deserve helmet stickers for their performances in Week 6:

1) McKenzi Adams, quarterback, Vanderbilt
2) Chris Smelley, QB, South Carolina
3) Glen Coffee, running back, Alabama
4) Emmanuel Cook, safety, South Carolina

Mr. Low’s observations from Week 6:

1) Vanderbilt’s coaches are doing more with less.  Looks like their in-state rivals to the east should take notes.

2) The SEC West race is between LSU and Alabama.

3) Waive bye-bye to Tony Franklin’s spread offense at Auburn.  The offensive coordinator’s future with the Tigers is also looking bleak.

4) Jeff Demps and Chris Rainey both rushed for over 100 yards this weekend, the first time that’s happened at Florida since 1997.

5) Despite losing to Alabama 17-14, Kentucky proved they will be a player in the SEC East race.

And finally, Mr. Low’s updated Power Rankings:

1. Alabama
2. LSU
3. Georgia
4. Florida
5. Vanderbilt
6. Kentucky
7. Auburn
8. South Carolina
9. Ole Miss
10. Mississippi State
11. Tennessee
12. Arkansas
