ESPN’S LOW RANKS THE SEC’S COACHES; SAYS FULMER’S STILL ON THE HOT SEAT

Permalink Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,

Here’s the latest from ESPN’s resident SEC guru, Chris Low:

Ranking players by every measurable and intangible the mind can conjure up has become a favorite pastime of Mr. Low, so why not rank the coaches too

Nearly half the coaches in the SEC are proud owners of national championship bling, so ranking the top half should be slightly easier than ranking the Maxim Hot 100.

Direct your mouse here for ranking criteria.

1)  Steve Spurrier, South Carolina
2)  Urban Meyer, Florida
3)  Nick Saban, Alabama
4)  Mark Richt, Georgia
5)  Tommy Tuberville, Auburn
6)  Les Miles, LSU
7)  Philip Fulmer, Tennessee
8)  Bobby Petrino, Arkansas
9)  Houston Nutt, Ole Miss
10)  Rich Brooks, Kentucky
11)  Sylvester Croom, Mississippi State
12)  Bobby Johnson, Vanderbilt

Mr. Low pays a little more attention to the seventh guy on the above list in this post.

There was quite a bit of heat under Philip Fulmer’s fanny last season, but you’d think winning the SEC East would curb the restlessness in Knoxville.

Not necessarily, says Mr. Low.  While in no imminent danger of being fired (thanks to a brand new contract), Fulmer’s seat will remain above room temperature as long as Tennessee’s SEC title drought continues.
