While Alabama waits in their corner for next week’s Iron Bowl, Auburn is doing the same to the south.  Here are the headlines from The Plains:

This notes column reveals that quarterback Kodi Burns is a big fan of Auburn’s decision to huddle before plays.  “It’s easier to huddle.  You’ve got one guy giving the play and everybody looking at you and listening, as opposed to just looking at the sideline every play.”

Gabe McKenzie likes the fact that he’s been moved from defensive end back to tight end.  “This is what I was born to do.  I’ve done this all my life.”

McKenzie was switched to defense when former offensive coordinator Tony Franklin came in with his offense that required fast, ball-catching tight ends.

And this move is yet another step in completely and totally undoing everything that Franklin did.  What an unbelievably horrible fit for Auburn.  The other coaches obviously bought into NOTHING Franklin brought to the table because dang near every decision he made has now been undone.

And that makes Tommy Tuberville’s next choice for offensive coordinator the most important hire he’ll ever make.  Evan Woodbery of The Mobile Press-Register seems to believe Tuberville can stay if he promises to make the right off-season moves.  And thletic director Jay Jacobs will certainly want to know what his offensive plans are.
