In the mood for a LOT of Arkansas coverage? Good, ’cause there’s plenty:
1) arkansasrazorbacks.com, the new official athletic department site, is up and running today.
2) Rob Keys of The Northwest Arkansas Times remembers former Arkansas play-by-play man Paul Eells.
3) Terry Wood provides an in-depth look at the Razorbacks’ secondary. In terms of experience, the Hogs appear to be in trouble. But Bobby Petrino believes he does have talent in the defensive backfield.
“I like our secondary. I think we have depth at corner and depth at safety. I do think we have a freshman or two who are very talented and can compete to help us there.”
4) According to The St. Louis Dispatch (by way of The Slophouse blog), Houston Nutt’s over-the-top rant about Darren McFadden needing to be in the Heisman race might have hurt his chances. The guy finished 2nd to a player who set the single-season TD mark. I don’t think Nutt’s comments hurt him.
5) According to a pair of sports radio jocks, you can indeed expect to see a 90-foot running Razorback at midfield (and well beyond on both sides) of Reynolds Razorback Stadium this Fall.
6) The folks at wholehogsports.com are wondering how Ryan Mallett, the hot prospect QB who’s sitting out after transferring from Michigan, will be tutored by Petrino this year.
7) Tom Murphy of The Northwest Arkansas Times takes a look at Razorback AD Jeff Long… his goals with regards to new facilities and the ways in which he’s putting his own stamp on the athletic department.
