Here’s a full notes column from Thursday’s practice, including the news that Bobby Petrino now feels that more freshmen will play for the Hogs this year than he’d initially anticipated.
Last night’s practice was a dress rehearsal for the “mock game” that Arkansas will be going through tonight. Which is a dress rehearsal for their season opener on the 30th.
“We’ll be hitting. We like to hit. We want to have it as much like a game from pre-game meal to how we have our walkthrough during the day, how we approach the locker room and training room.”
Ray Dominguez says Petrino wants his guys big and bad. “Coach, he really loves tough guys. He wants to weed out all the weak ones right now.”
Tonight’s scrimmage will be one last chance for the coaches to evaluate their players. “It impacts (the depth chart),” Petrino said. “We haven’t finished any depth charts at all. We talk about depth every day, but we’ll probably sit down Sunday night and really decide where we’re at.”

True freshman Lavunce Askew has worked his way into the picture at defensive tackle.
