“Year-ender” pieces are those long, step-by-step, look back pieces that media members put together at the end of a season or the end of the year.

No one wants to do the things so they’re called “rear-enders” by press folk.

Now armed with that knowledge, here are several rear-enders for Arkansas’ 2008 football season:

This bullet-pointed story simply recounts the Hogs’ most valuable players, their best win, their worst loss, their best play call, etc, etc, etc.

Center Jonathan Luigs didn’t make the list, but he is up for the 2008 Rimington Trophy.  Luigs won the award last year as the nation’s top center.

Here’s the final report card for the Razorbacks, position-by-position.

Looking ahead, UA’s offense should benefit in 2009 from having a full season in Bobby Petrino’s system.

The Hogs’ defense has one key goal: get tougher.  “Personally, I would like us to be more physical throughout the entire year,” said Petrino.  “I thought there were a couple of games where we didn’t play as physical as we need to play.”
