FORMER UT COACH BATTLE HONORED
Former Tennessee football coach Bill Battle, who's made MILLIONS in the field of college licensing, has been named the recipient of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame's 2008 Outstanding Contributions to Amateur Football Award. It'll have to be a helluva plaque just to fit the title on it.
Battle was the youngest coach in the nation at 29 when he took over for Doug Dickey in 1970.
He left Tennessee after the 1976 season, in which some angry Vol fans famously sent a moving van to his house.
Sidenote: what kind of loser redneck would do that to a man and his family?
