You might want to change your story since it has been proven absolutely false. Several sources have confirmed that Miles was with the team when they arrived in Baton Rouge. The final offer was $600,000 according to many within the athletic office and this crap is just orange propaganda to make the hire look better. You got the guy. Be happy with that. You had better hope you like O, because you will probably be stuck with him when Monte pickes up his fishing poll in a couple of years. Do you really think he went to UT for $50k and to be Monte's stooge? He will be your DC in two years.

Hmmm.....The typical, immature media regurgitation typically found on this site. I also frequent VolQuest.com and GoVolXtra.com and find these sites far supperior to this one. Why? Because of the immaturity of the write ups. Why insult people who you have probably never met personally? Is it possible that your bitterness over being "scooped" on every story by ESPN is effecting your work? Both this article and the Coach O write-up bear resemblence to high school homework. Please, grow up. The writers of this site, at least regarding the Tennessee news, needs to stop being petty and report the news. I dont want your opinions. I want the news. This is why I usually go elsewhere for Volunteer news, and will continue to do so. Good luck.

Once again, the local yocal media in Knoxville is scooped because they don't have their good ol' boy network in place to spoon feed them information. I like how you also added negative undertones to this report regarding Coach Orgeron and his recruiting.

Keep up the good work, Coach Kiff! The previous staff ran this program into the ground. It's up to you to reclaim and rebuild Tennessee Football.

It is interesting that you and the other media in Knoxville are so negative regarding Lane Kiffin. To hear Hyams and Hooker, the recruiting class is awful. They are upset that he is speaking to national media (Rome, etc.) but not to the local yocals, and now you are stating that the "boosters" are grumbling. These are probably the same boosters that wanted to keep a washed up coach in place because they were granted access to practices and had business dealing with the head honcho.

Honestly, I am ecstatic that he has the sheep in Knoxville in an uproar. The fact is that the old, stale regime of Fulmer is history. Now, the media has no more inroads into that Fulmer good ol' boy network, and they really have no idea what is going on. They are finally having to get their hands dirty.

I am confident that Kiffin can put together a more than capable coaching staff that can at the very least win a Homecoming game. Let's give the man a season under his belt before we jump to conclusions.

I love it that he has your heads spinning. No Coach O? Oh...the humanity! How dare he hire solid, NFL coaches instead of the old Fulmer fishing buddies!

Ugghhh, Iowa 31 - South Caolina - 10. The Gamecocks have absolutely NO HEART and are just not a well-coached team. Everyone on this team thinks they are better than what they actually are. A sorry state-of-affairs in Columbia. The worst thing was they laid down against their arch-rival, Clemson. SOS & Co. should be ashamed of what they put on the field this past season.

My concern for Mr. Teague is just how much playing time he expects to receive by attending Fla. I would say very little until he at least becomes a junior. His competion at Fla. will be greater than anything he has seen up until this point. Good luck to you, but I think you have made a bad choice in schools.

I gotta take up for Jack Tatum. He a great football player - in college as well as the NFL. No receiver wanted to come into Jack Tatum's area, same as Eric Berry.

Tatum also put the hit on Frenchy Fuqua that birthed the Immaculate Reception six years before Darryl Stingley got paralyzed in a legal hit.

I think Eric Berry should be honored to win the Jack Tatum Award. Football needs throwback players like Eric Berry who ask no quarter and give none.

Yes, I agree you will see the results in 3 years. You will see he had NO businesss getting the job based on qualifications. Some people forget he was the SECOND choice of even AL DAVIS for the Raider job from USC. Kiffen ONLY got that JOB because the REAL OFF Coordinator, who is now the UW head coach, turned it down.

Good LUCK with that ONE

Okay, with the point margin the way that it was for OU, plus the injuries on OU's defense during the year, the analysis may be better served to compare the two teams defenses during the 1st HALF of games.

Great to know that Ole Miss will take our trash. His crime was so disgusting. While the rest of his team mourned the passing of the scout team quaterback, "sunshine" as his nickname was, Jamar went and ran up a dead girl's credit card. The worst part was the parents paid the bill twice thinking it was charges that were pending at the time of there daughters death and hadn't been posted yet. Apparently losing your young daughter isn't bad enough someone has to make it worse. I'm sorry, this isn't one of those forgive and forget moments.

This discussion gets on the wrong foot, when it is simply limited to the two coaches listed, Gill and Chizik. In ALL due respect to Gill, he is NOT the most qualified BLACK coach Auburn could have interviewed. That is ONE of the reasons is was SIMPLY a TOKEN interview.

Limiting the discussion to Chizik vs Gill is totally not taking into account the other MORE QUALIFIED BLACK coaches who did NOT EVEN GET AN INTERVIEW.

There is NO other explanation of the current state of black coaches in college football but the question of RACE.

Many of these institutions are private, but many of them are state funded public institutions and laws can be passed to regulate their hiring and interviewing practices.

To argue that we cannot give a coach a job based on race, takes away a MAIN solution. We KNOW there are MANY coaches who are black who are qualified for these positions, so by that measure there a less qualified WHITE coaches who have head coaching positions who WOULD NOT HAVE THEM IF THEY WERE BLACK (check KIFFEN @ Tennessee)

The only group that has the REAL power to create change is the parents and recruits. They need to demand answers and consider going to HBUC to make a point.

They will get solid coaching at the HBUC and scouts will find you WHEREVER U ARE. Besides DUKE, OU, PENN STATE, TEXAS, USC, etc. would not have such GREAT coaches without the TOP talent.

There are some great coaches at HBUC who dont get the talent, so you really dont get to know HOW good the coaches truyl are.

This has to rank as one of the most questionabe hires in college football. His record in college football is 5 and 19 in college coaching. I'm not an Auburn fan but I really liked to watch them play and Coach Tubberville always done a good job as their coach. Especially by beating the cheats at Alabama.
