SEC Football

1. After spending about 28 hours in jail, Jonathan Taylor booted from Georgia football team. Defensive lineman was arrested on felony assault charges.  Third Georgia defensive player to be dismissed this offseason.

2. Case closed.  Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall’s fine for marijuana possession has been paid. If Marshall is suspended for the opener against Arkansas, what will the impact be on the Vegas line?

3. Auburn was one of six SEC teams that ran more than 70 plays per game last season.  All but Mississippi State finished in the top six in total offense in the league.

4. Charter plane carrying Florida coach Will Muschamp and South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier had to be diverted to Philadelphia.  Spurrier: “It was a little mechanical problem.”

5. LSU freshman defensive tackle Trey Lealeimatafao released from hospital. Injured  his arm punching a glass window.

6. Take note, Bob Stoops. ‘There is no financial incentive for Saban to win any postseason games other than the SEC Championship Game, a playoff semifinal and the Student-Athlete Super Bowl.’

7. West Virginia cornerback Daryl Worley on opening against the Crimson Tide: "Honestly, we wouldn't rather be playing anyone else.”
