People in the stands get to say whatever they want to whomever they want without fear of retribution. I don't know if I'd be able to control my emotions with some of the things that are said. We are talking about kids here who are competing at a high level and for sure if a racial slur was used, the guy is lucky he only got shoved. If a slur wasn't used and he was only being a smart alec, he is lucky he only got shoved.
And then you have the Marshall Henderson thingy, where an athlete taunts the crowd regularly. He is lucky to not have been attacked and beaten to a pulp by now. It's called" incite"...my 4 year old can bug my 6 year old until finally he gets a response. Then he comes running to daddy after the response that his own behavior has caused. Do I feel sorry for my 4 year old? No...Do I feel sorry for the rich, white fan who was taunting a 20 year old black basketball player, and the basketball player responded in the heat of the moment by shoving him? No
