8. Kansas City Star on Missouri’s quarterbacks: “As well as Mauk played, he wasn’t consistently better than Franklin. There’s simply no debating that.” MrSEC: “Pinkel is wise to go back to Franklin…Playing Mauk could create a lot more troubles than it’s worth.”

18. Vanderbilt quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels on wide receiver Jordan Matthews: “I don’t see any weaknesses.”

19. Arkansas offensive coordinator Jim Chaney on turnovers: “It’s been our Achilles’ heel all season.” Mississippi State’s defense has seven takeaways the last two games.

31. Any publicity is good publicity apparently.  Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy on the Sports Illustrated expose: “I think it helped us in recruiting.”

When I said two days ago:

"What's this about prayers answered or total luck. Rubbish. Give Gus more credit than that. That's just the way they have been practicing that play since it was inserted into the playbook. Genius, pure genius."

I really thought everyone would hear the sarcasm. When Malzahn says:

“It’s a play we call 'Little Rock'. It’s just a deep post over the top, intermediate dig and then we've got three different checkdowns at different levels. So the quarterback has a three-read progression. He took a chance. He took a shot over the top right there, Of course, it turned out for us. I was looking at the dig, specifically, but the ball wasn’t there. I followed it and it was tipped and our guy made a great play.”

It sounds as though Malzahn actually thinks a great play call and outstanding execution led to Auburn's win; with no acknowledgement it was a 4th and fling pass that was badly overthrown and should have either been intercepted or knocked down by two different Georgia players before his receiver made a most fortunate catch. Wow! That's as remarkable as the play itself.
