The list of Florida players suspended for today’s opener against Toledo is reportedly up to six. The latest name to the list – starting cornerback and all-purpose player Loucheiz Purifoy .
The Gainesville Sun says Purifoy and five other players - starting middle linebacker Antonio Morrison, defensive tackles Darious Cummings and Jay-nard Bostwick, wide receiver Latroy Pittman and offensive lineman Quinteze Williams – are all suspended for a violation of team rules.
Florida was already without three projected starters due to injuries - running back Matt Jones, offensive lineman Jon Halapio and tackle Chaz Green.
Even without all these players, the line for the game has barely budged with the Gators a 23 to 23 1/2 point favorite over Toledo.
Update: Florida now saying four players are suspended for today. Bostwick is not mentioned. The suspension of Morrison was previously announced.
L. Purifoy, L. Pittman, D. Cummings and Q. Williams will not play in today’s game vs. Toledo due to a violation of team rules.
