Uhm. Who is the author for this blog piece?
Spurrier did offer potential solutions for making the schedule more fair (either just counting divisional games; or going to 9 or 10 games)
And money to cover parents travel to games (300 bucks) is not pay for play.
Blog author trying to be either pithy or have some sort of barbed take
But its clearly an uninformed / lazy post
Spurrier said that there was no solution regarding schedules that everyone agreed upon. He tossed out several things but admitted they weren't supported. That is not saying, "We should do this." He simply complained -- again -- about scheduling... and then went on to answer a later question by saying that no one knows which bad teams will become good the following year.
Money for playing games is -- by definition -- pay for play. Does Spurrier intend to pay those players who don't dress out for games?
Oh, and I wouldn't call a site where three people have worked all day long to provide more up-to-the-minute coverage of Media Days than anyone else, lazy.
