SEC Recruiting Headlines 6/19/2013

1. Auburn commitment Josh Casher visits Alabama – still “looking around.”

2. Georgia prospect Raekwon McMillan is considered the nation’s No. 1 prospect at inside linebacker.  While he won’t make a decision until after the season, he lists Alabama and Ohio State as his leaders, Clemson, Florida and Georgia are also in the mix.

3. With 19 commitments in the class of 2014, Kentucky has the No. 1 class in the country, at least for a little while.

4. Ole Miss has 17 commitments in its 2014 class.

5. Chesapeake, Virginia defensive tackle Andrew Brown is considered the nation’s top defensive tackle.  Alabama is one of his five finalists.

6. Mike Herndon hopes Alabama takes its time developing five-star quarterback David Cornwell. Cornwell tweets congratulations to new Alabama commitment Derek Kief, a wide receiver from Cincinnati.

7. Alabama expanding its geographic footprint with rare commitments from the states of Colorado and Minnesota.

8. Lithonia, Ga. defensive end Shamiek Blackshear Arden Key is South Carolina’s third commitment in the class of 2015.

9. Defensive end Karl Roesler III will walk-on at Arkansas this fall..  Turned down other scholarship offers.

10. Florida coach Billy Donovan gets his first 2015 commitment - power forward Kevarrius Hayes of Suwannee High School.
