Good Monday morning. Hope all of you out there have a happy, safe Memorial Day. We’ll be bringing you some headlines shortly and then we’ll kick off our own partial day off.
The rest of this week we’ll be talking about the SEC meetings in Destin, league payouts, permanent rivalries and nine-game schedules. Also, we’ll go ahead and bet that we’ll be able to quote Mike Slive as saying, “The First Amendment is alive and well in the SEC,” at least once.
But before we get to all that, here’s your thought/lyric of the day. You know it from the classic Beatles song “Hey Jude,” but the MrSEC iPod kicked out a soulful, wild, horn-filled version by Wilson Pickett this morning. If you haven’t heard it, check it out. It’s not easy to cover the Beatles. But Pickett nailed this one by changing it enough to make it his own.
“The minute you let her under your skin then you begin to make it better.”
