Thought Of The Day – 4/8/13

Just another manic Monday.

And no, that song by “Alexander Nevermind” is not the source of today’s thought/lyric of the day.  (Though, what the hell?  Let’s make it a twofer.  No one can pass on Susanna Hoffs’ eyes.)

Instead, today’s inspiration comes from Bonnie Raitt… as she performs a John Prine song… with the help of John Prine himself.

“But that was a long time and no matter how I try… the years just flow by like a broken down dam.”

Angel From Montgomery – Bonnie Raitt w/ John Prine

He actually wrote Manic Monday under the pseudonym "Christopher".  It was Sheena Easton's "Sugar Walls" where Prince used the Alexander Nevermind pseudonym.

Wikipedia says "Christopher," other internet sources say he wrote both "Sugar Walls" and "Manic Monday" as "Alexander Nevermind."

I don't have that CD by The Bangles, so I can't check the liner notes to be sure.  Whichever pseudonym Prince used, it was still Prince who wrote the song.  And I've now wasted more time on who wrote a mid-80s pop song than I should have today!

Thanks for reading the site,
