SEC RPI Watch – 1/14/13

gfx - by the numbersFollowing your weekend action around the SEC, here’s the current RPI breakdown for the conference.  One positive note — the Southeastern Conference has climbed from ninth to eighth in the conference rankings.

The SEC trails the Big Ten, the Big East, the Mountain West, the ACC, the Big 12, the Pac-12, and the Atlantic 10, in order.  The takeaway?  The league probably won’t be grabbing more than three bids to the NCAA Tournament.

Below the RPI chart, you’ll also find the games on the SEC’s midweek schedule.

School   RPI   SEC Record   Div. I Record   Last Game
  Florida   10   2-0   12-2   74-52 W @ LSU
  Missouri   23   1-1   12-3   49-64 L @ Ole Miss
  Texas A&M   41   2-0   12-3   83-71 W @ Kentucky
  Ole Miss   47   2-0   13-2   64-49 W Missouri
  Kentucky   68   1-1   10-5   71-83 L Texas A&M
  Arkansas   72   1-1   10-5   56-33 W Vanderbilt
  Alabama   74   1-1   8-6   68-65 W Tennessee
  LSU   96   0-2   9-4   52-74 L Florida
  Tennessee   98   0-2   8-6   65-68 L @ Alabama
  Vanderbilt   156   0-2   6-8   33-56 L @ Arkansas
  Auburn   190   2-0   8-7   74-71 W @ S. Carolina
  Georgia   213   0-2   6-9   61-72 W Georgia
  Miss. State   225   2-0   7-7   72-61 W @ Georgia
  S. Carolina   240   0-2   10-5   71-74 L Auburn

Tennessee at Kentucky

Ole Miss at Vanderbilt

Georgia at Missouri

Auburn at Arkansas

South Carolina at LSU

Alabama at Mississippi State

Florida at Texas A&M

Arkansas still has a solid chance to make the tournament. Texas A&M and Ole Miss having fast starts has made the tournament race interesting.

If Arkansas can notch a couple of road wins, I could see A&M, Ole Miss, the Hogs, and Kentucky all finishing around 12-6 or 11-7 in conference. Should be interesting.

Um .... Auburn is 2-0 (not 1-1 as you have listed above) in conference, beating both LSU and USC.

Um... Corrected.  No slight intended.  Transcribing 75 numbers, I goofed on Auburn's record.  My bad.
