Na’Ty Rodgers Chooses South Carolina

Offensive lineman Na’Ty Rodgers from McDonough High School in Pomfret, Md., has committed to South Carolina.

Rodgers made the decision after visiting South Carolina last weekend.

“I really liked what I saw there by myself so I decided to pull the trigger,” Rodgers told the Post and Courier. “It’s just a great place to be. The honesty of the coaching staff, the game day atmosphere, it’s a place where you look forward to going and playing.”

Rodgers, who was scheduled to visit Florida State this weekend but cancelled the visit, informed the Maryland coaching staff of his decision in person.

“Of course, they are not going to like it, but that’s recruiting,” Rodgers said.

South Carolina should be excited to land Rodgers, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 25 offensive tackle by ESPN RecruitingNation. The Gamecocks have 20 commitments for the class of 2013.
