Anyone wondering about the health of Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron should stop. At least that’s what Tide coach Nick Saban told a national audience on ESPN last night. Bama’s signal-caller left his team’s 42-10 win over Missouri with what looked to be a twisted knee on Saturday. Turns out, he bruised his knee and pinched the “fat pad” in it (“the soft tissue that lies below the kneecap”) at the same time.
“He’ll be fine in a day or two,” Saban said.
Against FBS opponents only, McCarron ranks seventh in the SEC in passing yards per game, but he’s #1 in terms of quarterback rating.
For the year, McCarron has completed 67% of his passes with 12 touchdowns against — wait for it — zero interceptions. Not bad considering he’s thrown 132 passes on the season.
McCarron and top-ranked Alabama travel to Tennessee to face the SEC’s 12th rated pass defense on Saturday.
