Southern California commitment Jason Hatcher is planning to take official visits to other schools.
The defensive end from Trinity High School in Louisville, Ky., told ESPN Recruiting Nation he’s solid in his commitment to the Trojans but wants to take all five official visits.
“I’ve been talking to Florida,” Hatcher said. “I know I’ll probably go up to Ohio State. I know I’m going to USC. Those are the only ones I know for sure. I’ll probably go to Tennessee as well.”
Florida, Tennessee and Louisville were finalists when he chose USC in July. Florida and Tennessee still appear to be candidates to receive visits from Hatcher before he makes his final decision.
“I know Florida has a great class coming in along with USC, and they’re doing a lot of stuff that I like, with getting to the quarterback,” Hatcher said. “I like some of the things I saw with Tennessee. Tennessee was a school I was looking hard at, probably my second or third choice when I made my decision.”
Hatcher was very critical of Tennessee when he committed to USC in July. He pointed to Tennessee’s loss to Kentucky at the end of last season as a reason he didn’t choose the Vols.
“I told them, ‘You lost to the University of Kentucky. You lose to UK, you lose to everybody because UK finishes last in the SEC every year,’” Hatcher said at the time.
Perhaps Tennessee will improve its standing with Hatcher if it finds more success on the field this year.
