Running back Derrick Green from Hermitage High School in Richmond, Va., will travel to Atlanta on Saturday to watch Auburn play Clemson in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game.
“I definitely want to take a close look at Auburn and how they plan to use their run game and different styles of offense they’re going to do … I’m going to have fun but I’m also going to be observing at the same time,” Green told ESPN RecruitingNation.
Green still plans to take an official visit to Auburn this fall along with Tennessee and Michigan. Georgia, Ole Miss and Oregon are also candidates to receive an official visit from Green, who can take up to five official visits according to NCAA rules.
Green’s season began last weekend when Hermitage handled Fork Union (Va.) Military 38-o. Green rushed for 135 yards in the season-opening win. His goals are lofty this season.
“I want over 2,000 yards and around 30 touchdowns,” Green told ESPN.
