Georgia received commitments on Friday from two 2013 prospects: linebacker Tim Kimbrough from Warren Central High School in Indianapolis and safety Quincy Mauger from Kell High School in Marietta, Ga.
Both committed during Friday’s “Dawg Night’ festivities in Athens, Ga. Mauger knew he would commit to the Bulldogs after he received a scholarship offer last month.
“I told Mark Richt that I wanted to commit,” Mauger told ESPN RecruitingNation, “but I wanted to surprise my mom and make it official with her in person at Dawg Night. He said he was very happy but would be ecstatic when I make it official.”
Mauger will work to make it official with one of his teammates, cornerback Brendan Langley. He attended Dawg Night with Mauger.
“I am just going to tell him what sold me and hopefully he will buy into being a part of our class,” Mauger told ESPN.
Langley has several options, including a top five list of Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and UCLA. Alabama is the leader for Langley’s services.
Georgia has 21 commitments for the class of 2013.
