Running back Jordan Wilkins from St. Benedict at Auburndale High School in Cordova, Tenn., plans to visit Michigan this week.
Wilkins told 247Sports he will visit family in Detroit on Monday and then drive to see Michigan’s campus.
“Since it’s only like 30 minutes away (from Michigan), I might as well visit,” Wilkins said. “It’s a place I’ve wanted to visit.”
That’s because Michigan has remained in contention for Wilkins, who told 247Sports he still favors Auburn with Vanderbilt second on his list. Michigan and Tennessee round out his top four.
Auburn is hoping to hold on to Wilkins, who hopes to let the Tigers know his final decision before his senior season begins.
“I’m still going to take a couple more visits just to be 100 percent,” Wilkins said. “I’m going to try to get it done before football season starts, but I’m not going to rush anything.”
Wilkins is ranked the nation’s No. 4 all-purpose running back by 247Sports.
